Digitevent is a web solution that works on Android, iOS, and Windows. So which tablets should you choose, and where do you get them? Is it better to buy or rent? Given the many questions we get on this topic, we asked for the expertise of Jonathan Astruc, co-founder of Handyamo, our favorite tablet rental company, and put our questions to him. Here is his best advice!

Who do you work with, and for what kinds of events?

Since 2011, we've helped run several hundred professional events involving tablets, which has let us build real expertise and identify good practices. We take an active role and help our clients plan the "tablets" part, from content integration through to deployment on the day of the event. We try to bring fresh, surprising ideas for organizing interactive seminars, treasure hunts, or setting up game kiosks for trade shows.

What should you keep in mind when using tablets at your events?

In events, equipment should be reserved solely for the event. If the user experience isn't optimal, you risk losing participants along the way. It's essential to avoid being interrupted during an event by inappropriate notifications (email, Facebook, etc.), or worse, a sudden device update! That's why relying on staff members' own devices is often risky. So if you organize fewer than about fifteen events a year, renting will give you unmatched reliability and flexibility.

Can you give us 3 strengths of renting from Handyamo?

  • We spare clients the logistical hassle
  • The tablets are delivered anywhere in France by the day before the event at the latest. They're protected in cases, ready to use, charged, and configured. After the event, you just need to put the tablets back in their original packaging before the courier picks them up.
  • We optimize device settings for the event
